Laniece Langford still has some work to do, but her game is coming around.
Langford, a freshman guard out of Burke High School in Dorchester, has played in the last nine games for the Lady Beacons, averaging 9.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
Her latest effort for UMass Boston led the Lady Beacons to their first Little East Conference win of the season, a 58-41 win over UMass Dartmouth.
Langford filled up the score sheet, scoring a game-high 16 points while collecting six rebounds, five steals and four assists.
Langford had a stellar high school career in the Boston City League, leading her school to four straight City Championships while earning three MVP awards.
In her senior year, she led the all of Eastern Massachusetts in scoring (27.5 ppg) and finished her career with almost 2,000 points.
