It’s awesome. It’s cool. It’s frosty and delicious. It’s the new milkshake machine located at the Atrium Café. A product of the f’REAL company, this amazing device has left students smiling and satisfied all over campus. The new blending machine creates an interactive milkshake experience, allowing the user to customize the tasty treat to their exact specifications. The first step towards frosty greatness is selecting a flavor. A student can select their beverage from a variety of flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chip, and cookies & cream. If you’re not in the mood for a milkshake but still want a chilly treat, you could try a fruit smoothie in tropical blast, strawberry spin or wild berry whirl, and for all those caffeine addicts, there’s a classic coffee and mocha flavor. After selecting the desired flavor, remove the lid and place your selection into the machine. Next, select the desired thickness with choices of thin, regular, or thick.f’REAL states that with a mere “push of a button, the blender automatically elevates your pre-filled frozen cup into the blending chamber, and less than 60 seconds later, returns a freshly-prepared, milkshake.” As if by magic, what was once an ounce of frozen mass is now a cup of liquid yum.In an interview with Sodexo’s General Manager, David Levine explained how UMB acquired this fantastic device.”This product has existed for awhile. You may have seen it in convenience stores where it has been very successful. When the vendor [f’REAL] approached us, we decided to give it a shot,” said Levine. “We organized a taste test where several students and faculty members tried all the different flavors – all of which were delicious. The next step was to give it a trial run, which we are in the process of now, and it seems clear that even in these winter months, this new machine is a great success that will hopefully draw in even more costumers as spring approaches.”Erik Sundell, a renowned milkshake connoisseur, was the very first student to purchase and sample a f’Real Frosty. Erik stated in an interview, “My favorite thing about the machine is the selection of thickness. I like mine extra thick. Strawberry is the first flavor I tried and it was fantastic, but vanilla and mint chocolate chip are close seconds.”A f’REAL frozen drink will cost you $3.25 and if you’re wondering about the machine cleanliness, rest assured. The machine self cleans itself after every use.
