There is this Donut shop in Boston that is extremely well known called Kane’s Donuts. They have a selection of 16 different donuts ranging from your classic Boston Cream and glazed donuts to Maple Bacon and Crème Brule. On their website it says it all started in 1955, so not only are they good, but they are established. They have two shops in Massachusetts, one in Boston located at 2 International Place and one in Saugus located at 120 Lincoln Avenue. Yes, the donuts were tempting but I went there for another reason that does not involve food, but it involves my favorite thing to talk about which is tea! I had heard a few rumors about how Kane’s Donuts had a really good tea selection. So, while I was working with my mom next door to Kane’s Donuts, I decided to walk myself over and grab a cup of tea!
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the rather large line and the sweet smell of donuts. Even though the building was small it was bright and colorful! I walked up to the counter and I think I shocked the lady when I told her the only thing I wanted was some tea and she pointed to their listing for me. When I heard that they had an interesting tea selection I did not know what to expect, but it definitely was not what they gave me. They offered English Breakfast tea, Japanese Sencha, Egyptian Chamomile, Organic Peppermint, Earl Gray, Paris, and, what I got, Hot Cinnamon Spice. Yes, most of these flavors are quite common but they had some interesting names to them, so it made them sound a lot more fun and appealing.
Back to the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea and about how amazing it was! First of all, Kane’s prices are not bad at all for Boston. For a medium cup of tea, I only paid $2.50 and for a large it was only about $3. Also, they served tea iced and hot but I was craving a nice hot cup of tea so that is what I ended up choosing. I did not add cream or sugar to it though, because I felt it was sweet and flavorful. The cinnamon added a small little kick to it and there was something in it that gave it a naturally sweetened taste. I noticed that as my tea cooled down the flavor of it became much stronger, so the next time I go to Kane’s Donuts I am 100% getting it iced because it was just that good!
