It’s almost Thanksgiving—the spooookiest holiday—which means it’s time to make sure you have your perfect spooky costume ready. Although it sometimes seems like it’s impossible to come up with anything good to dress up as, I’m here to help you with tips for seven spooky costumes you might try out this Thanksgiving!
One: Vampire. There’s nothing spookier than a vampire. They suck human blood and live forever and are bats. Vampires are old and live in old castles, which makes them perfect costume characters to dress up as this Thanksgiving. It may feel unoriginal, like everyone’s dressed up as them before, but that’s just because they’re so scary. Besides there’s always something fun you could do to twist up your vampire costume, like a peg-leg, or one green eye. Either way, your vampire costume is sure to scare everybody at Thanksgiving dinner.
Two: Zombie. What could be spookier than a zombie? They’re dead people, like vampires, but they also make groaning sounds because their lungs and throat don’t work anymore. Everybody is spooked by zombies, because nobody wants to meet them in real life, so when people see them dressed up as costumes and think that they’re real, that makes people frightened. Pro-tip, if you want to really spook someone, dress up as the zombified corpse of a deceased relative they dearly loved.
Three: The Devil. Satan, who is the devil, is very scary because he has three heads. Each of the heads is also a prison which has one of the worst sinners ever kept inside. The first is Judas, the second is Bruits, the third could be you! Dressing up as the devil is a great way to scare people, especially children.
Four: Goblin. Goblins are little, mean creatures who live underneath houses where they eat children and cats. Goblins are very greedy creatures who steal gold from unsuspecting families, which they hide in their layer. If you catch a goblin, it will lead you to its pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but what makes them so scary is that they don’t want to show you where the gold is. I don’t know about you, but if I saw a goblin, I’d run and hide.
Five: A Sexy Nun. Dressing up as spooky things can be fun, but Thanksgiving can also be about sexy costumes. The most popular sexy costume is the classic sexy nun. Being a real nun is very serious, as they are respected officers of the Catholic Church, who run schools and hospitals. Sexy nuns don’t do any of that stuff though, instead they mostly just are sexy. It may not be spooky, but a good sexy nun costume will make your Thanksgiving family dinner very exciting.
Six: An Ugly Wizard. Some wizards are beautiful, like Frodo, but others are ugly, like Voldemort. If you try to dress up like a beautiful wizard people may like you more, but to be truly spooky, you have to dress up as an ugly one. Become a wizard costume that is truly ugly and no one will want to have dinner with you because they’re so scared. And that’s what Thanksgiving is all about.
Seven: A Classic Ghost. Because ghost costumes are mostly just dinner-tablecloths, and Thanksgiving is a dinner holiday, the classic ghost costume is a great fit. You could just walk into the room as a ghost, or you could lie down on the table with the tablecloth laid over you. Then, when the party begins, you rise up and ruin dinner for everybody.
