Saturday afternoon the UMass men’s hockey team held off Skidmore and overcame the shear energy of their opponents. This win, an uncommon event during a tough season could not have come at a better time. They won only their third game this year on the last game that the UMass seniors would play at home. Saturday was senior day; all three seniors started the game and Robbie Sullivan, who has been with the Beacons for two seasons got an assist with 30 seconds left in the game.
Skidmore had the momentum from the first drop of the puck. UMass looked unsure and hesitant, holding on to the puck for to long and making poor shot selection. Skidmore had the first real scoring opportunity, a two on one
