Just wanted to clarify a point in Dena Capano’s article last week about the BWSC suit regarding the Calf Pasture. The article quotes the documents of the suit in part as “…failure of the Defendants (UMB) …to arrange the scholarships as required by the MOU…” The University has made every good faith effort to fulfill the outline of the MOU in terms of the scholarships offered. The first “CITY” Scholars entered the University in the fall of 2000, the first semester immediately following the signing of the agreement. The program is in its third year of $5000.00, renewable scholarships, to Boston residents. We have awarded over $132,000.00 to date.
Your reporter was only quoting the filing, but I thought it was worth clarifying.
Thank you!
