GSA Meeting
The first GSA meeting of the school year will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 4pm in the Wheatley Student Lounge on the 4th floor of the Wheatley Building. Topics currently on the agenda include: new member elections, officer elections, GSA budget changes. We strongly encourage all graduate students to attend and represent their departments.
Recognized Professional Associations
The GSA sponsors Recognized Professional Associations (RPAs) to enrich the quality of graduate education and life at UMass Boston. RPAs are open to all graduate students. If there are currently no RPAs that match your interests, you may consider organizing a new one.
Last year’s RPAs included: American Studies Roundtable, Association of Health Policy Scholars, Biology Graduate Club, CCT Forum, Chinese Association for Academics and Science, Clinical Graduate Association, Entrepreneur Club, Gerontology Student Organization, GIDA (Graduate Instructional Design), Graduate Nursing Organization, Graduate Sociology Student Association, MBA Association, Mental Health Association, MITR Indian Association, Pacific Asian American Studies Students Association in Graduate Education, Public Policy Scholars, Rehabilitation Counselors, School of Psychology Association, Taiwanese Student Association.
In order to receive funding from the Graduate Student Assembly, all new and returning RPAs must be submit the RPA application to the Office of Student Life by 12pm on September 16. The application can be downloaded from www.gsa.umb.edu.
Officers of RPAs are also required to attend a mandatory officer training session. RPA applications will be rejected without completion of the officer training. The Office of Student Life will conduct these training sessions on the following dates and times:
9/15 9:30am, 2:30pm 9/16 12:00pm9/17 10:00am 9/18 10:00am, 2:30pm, 4:00pm9/19 10:00am, 2:30pm

Event
The UMB Chinese Scholar Student Association is hosting a Chinese Moon Festival Party on September 12 at 5:30pm in the Wheatley 4th floor student lounge.
