Undergraduate Student Government met Wednesday for its first general assembly since the fall special election.
The special election filled 23 Senate seats after just five candidates ran in April’s general election. The senators listed below will join Sens. Abigail Cummings, Annie Kebadze, Sarah Wilkinson, Linzie Truong and Kayla Cadet, who were elected in April, in USG’s legislative branch.
USG President Cristian Orellana addressed the general assembly, followed by representatives from MASSPIRG and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. USG’s chief justice then swore in new senators, who also completed required training during the meeting.
Because it was a special election, the seats were filled by Senate vote, rather than student ballots as in a general election. The senators will hold their seats until the next general election in the spring.
