Praising for a Purpose

Feeding the less fortunate never sounded so good. The UMass Boston Real Life Christian Fellowship has put together a night of great music, great fun and a chance to get to know yourself and your fellow students. “Praising for a Purpose” is a “benefit gospel concert” right here at UMB on April 17, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. The event is looking to raise money and awareness about the problem of hunger and homelessness in Boston and to provide food to those in need. In partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, the Real Life Christian Fellowship is looking to help out our fellow Bostonians, all while enjoying some fabulous entertainment.

The event will feature gospel choirs from Boston and will showcase the amazing talent of those who have dedicated themselves to the music of God. “Praising for a Purpose” is not your usual Sunday Mass; the event will surely be a treat for all in attendance and will give you a sense of accomplishment, knowing you are helping the Greater Boston Food Bank give meals to those who would otherwise be forced to do without.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event is right here on campus in the Campus Center ballroom (third floor), so there is no excuse not to stop by after class. For more information on the event, or to setup special accommodations, see a representative of the Real Life Christian Fellowship. It’s a great way to show your support for your community and enjoy some great music, no matter what faith you practice.
