UMass Boston will be a solemn campus for the foreseeable future.

Wolf Jules, who was an anthropology major and member of the 2006-07 men’s basketball team, has passed away at the age of 23.

Charlie Titus, UMass Boston’s Vice Chancellor of Athletics and head coach of the men’s basketball team said Wolf “was a tremendous gentleman, a quiet and gentle type of guy.

“I always thought his potential was unlimited as a basketball player and as a human.”

Wolf was very engaged on campus, as he was a member of the Haitian American Society. He also worked at Healey Library.

“Wolf came to UMass Boston looking to move on with his education and with his life. He’ll be remembered as a person with a wonderful smile,” added Titus.

Before coming to UMB, Jules attended Cambridge Ringe and Latin School in Cambridge, MA for high school.

In 22 games with the Beacons in 2006-07, Jules averaged 8.0 minutes, 1.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks.

Titus said that Jules passed away in his home.
