3/17/2013 6:37 a.m.

A cleaner reported that a man with no shoes and no jacket was banging on the Clark Center entrance glass doors with his hands. The man had no wallet and no identification and was not speaking English. An ambulance took him to Boston Medical Center.

3/18/2013 10:13 a.m.

A panic alarm went off in the North Lot. The attendant did not set off the alarm and said that nothing was going on in the area. 

3/18/2013 10:41 a.m.

A man got on and off the bus between JFK/UMass and the Campus Center repeatedly, taking it from the station to the school and back twice. Someone reported him as a suspicious person, but when Campus Safety arrived, they could not find him.

3/18/2013 11:37 a.m.

An emergency phone went off in the North Lot, but when officers checked, there was nobody in the area. 

3/18/2013 2:52 p.m.

An iPhone was stolen from the Visual Attention Lab in the Science Center.

3/22/2013 1:29 p.m.

Bookstore employees reported a strong odor coming from the rear end of the store. Employees said that the store smelled like smoke, but that they could not see any smoke in the area. Campus Safety called Facilities to investigate the smell.

3/22/2013 2:23 p.m.

A woman’s purse was stolen.

3/22/2013 11:40 p.m.

An UMass Boston employee’s family called their local police station because they had not heard from her in a few hours and were concerned about her whereabouts. The local police called the university to ask if she was in her office. At 11:49 p.m., the local police called back to report that they had located the employee.

2/13/2013 11:20 a.m.

Parking and Transportation employees reported a missing money bag. The money bag was found in the station cabinet.

3/23/2013 11:05 a.m.

An alarm in the Campus Center was set off by construction.

3/23/2013 12:10 p.m.

A suspicious male party was walking around the Upper Level Campus Center garage without getting into a car. Officers were unable to locate him when they came to the area.
