Mulch in the Campus Center circle caught fire and was put out.

Someone called the Department of Public Safety to report an unattended shoebox next to the bookstore. Upon further investigation, the shoebox turned out to be empty.

A female employee complained of harassing emails.

Another female employee called stating that her purse had been removed from her office.

Someone’s car backed into another vehicle while it was parked in Lot D. The driver of the damaged car reported the incident to the Department of Public Safety.

A driver on University Drive South was stopped for speeding. Officers then discovered that the driver’s license was suspended, and that the vehicle was not registered or insured. Officers also discovered an illegal controlled substance in the vehicle, and destroyed that substance immediately.

Boston police radioed for assistance in locating a suspect in a nearby robbery. The suspect was not found on campus.

A brown purse was found unattended near the Steelworker in the plaza. Someone brought the purse to the station’s lost and found.

Someone stole an iPad from another student during a class.

During a routine stop on University Drive South, it was discovered that the driver’s license was expired. The driver called a friend to take over control of the vehicle.

A car was scratched in the South Lot.

Someone left a duffel bag unattended between a car and the wall in the Campus Center Garage. An officer brought the bag to the station.

Someone called in a stuck elevator in the McCormack building, but when the repairman arrived on scene, the elevator was working.

An iPhone was stolen in the Campus Center.

During a routine traffic stop, a driver was unable to show a license or registration for the vehicle. The vehicle was also uninsured.

Four students were drinking alcohol and doing drugs in Lot A when officers caught them.

Another student was caught drinking in the Clark Athletic Center and was later taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

A homeless man in a canoe was reported for trespassing in the Fox Point Pavillion.

Somebody stuck a razor blade into the tires of a car parked near the Quinn Administration Building.

A man in the paint shop experienced chest pains and had trouble breathing. He went to Boston Medical Center in an ambulance.

Someone made a prank phone call to a student employee in Student Affairs.

Someone walked into the station with information regarding a bank robbery in another jurisdiction.

A man came into the station to report that he had lost his laptop, which is UMass Boston property, somewhere between the Campus Center garage and his new office on Dec. 8.

5/10/2013 9:13 a.m.

A woman reported that a ditch dug as a result of construction on University Drive North had damaged the undercarriage of her vehicle.

A woman came in to report that an earlier motor vehicle accident in the Campus Center left her with a leg injury.

5/10/2013 12:52 p.m.

A woman was found lying on the floor of a bathroom in the Science Center. While another woman called the Department of Public Safety, the woman who had been on the floor got up and left the building. 

5/10/2013 1:08 p.m.

A woman suffering from severe stomach pains was taken to Boston Medical Center by emergency services.

5/11/2013 5:11 p.m.

Someone broke into a UMass Boston employee’s home and stole his laptop. The employee then called the Department of Public Safety to request that the tracking device on his laptop be activated.
