Stop Trying To Call Out Ms. Media For Nonexistent Violation of Copyright Law

Anonymous asked: Do you feel it’s okay to use the image of Ann Landers without permission?
You really should do more research before you ask such a silly question.
This specific photograph is in the public domain after being gifted to the Library of Congress, and it is featured prominently on Wikipedia, which is why I’m sure thousands of other people have used it without permission this month. My use is probably one of the less problematic ones.
As for it being okay, well, I don’t expect people to think that the photograph is of me. I want them to know that it’s a photo of Ann Landers because I want them to understand that I’m a great admirer of hers.
I also want people to know it’s a photo of Ann Landers because I want them to be clear on the fact that they will never ever see my own face on this website or any other. Ask me for pictures, and all you get is a headshot of a celebrity who is definitely not me.
Is referencing Ann Landers while protecting my identity okay? I think so.
