Sam Slabyk, a senior sociology major with a music minor, has an eclectic sense of style that radiates both classic and indie all at once. She frequently turns to fashion blog Tom & Lorenzo for style inspiration and loves shopping at thrift stores where she can find unique pieces that stand out.
Her patterned top is from Etsy, her high-waisted jeans are from Buffalo Exchange, her cardigan and braided belt are both from Target, and her pearl earrings are from a vintage market in Union Square. She got her shoes from DSW and her sunglasses from ModCloth.
As for celebrity style icons, Slabyk loves the fashion sense of “Mad Men” actress Kiernan Shipka, “even if she’s only 14.” She also loves the always flawless Lupita Nyong’o and her elegant red carpet looks. “I admire someone who has a very strong, individual sense of style, even if it’s unlike my own,” she said.
In the summer, Slabyk typically sticks to floral print dresses with flats or sandals and big earrings. However, this year she’s particularly looking forward to rocking her new geometric print romper from ModCloth. Her fashion advice to you — “Don’t give a shit about what people say about your body and flaunt those crop tops!”
