Sexual Assault Involving UMass Boston Student Near JFK

ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ASSAULT

The University of Massachusetts Boston Police Department is giving notice of a sexual assault that occurred at the JFK/UMass MBTA Station, Sydney Street, Boston, Mass.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, a sexual assault involving a UMass Boston student was reported to have occurred in the area of the JFK/UMass MBTA Station.

The unknown suspect has been described as a white male, approximately 28-30 years old, heavy build with a scruffy brown beard, and wearing light blue jeans, sneakers, and a navy blue hoodie.

This incident is under investigation by the MBTA Police Department. Anyone who has information that might be helpful in this investigation should contact the MBTA police at (617) 222-1212 or the UMass Boston Police Department at (617) 287-7799 or (617) 287-7794.

UMass Boston students are cautioned not to stop and talk to strangers, to always walk in well-lighted areas, and report any suspicious activities or encounters to the UMass Boston Police Department at (617) 287-7799.
