Just call Myrna Tanger Marcus Camby, because she’s all over the glass. Tanger ripped off a total of 29 rebounds in the Lady Beacons’ last two games of the regular season and, in doing so, cemented Little East Conference Player of the Week Honors.

Tanger’s rebounding has been exceptional all season, as she finished averaging 10.1 per game, more than one rebound better than anyone else in the league. Tanger’s offense recently carried her to her fourth double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) of the season in the Lady Beacons’ 64-54 win over UMass Dartmouth last weekend.

Her 17 rebounds in the team’s loss to Keene State tied her season and league-high. It is a feat she has accomplished on two other occasions this season, against Rhode Island College and Eastern Connecticut State University.

Tanger is a senior, and her team and head coach Shaun Polk will miss her prowess and presence on both ends of the floor next season. Her 3.73 offensive rebounds per game were also tops in conference. Tanger’s 250 rebounds accounted for 23 percent of the team’s season total.
