Jordan-Whittier is Twice as Nice

Not only is Jovan Jordan-Whittier in the top 25 in the Northeast Region in singles play, he is now a two-time winner of the Little East Conference’s Men’s Tennis Player of the Week award.

Jordan-Whittier, in the first week of April was a combined 3-1 in the team’s matchups against University of Southern Maine and Eastern Nazarene College.

“He’s a positive influence on the team,” head coach Eric Berg said about the Davis Cup participant. “He’s a natural born leader with a lot of coaching experience.”

Jordan-Whittier’s highlight win of the week was a 6-0, 6-0 smothering of Eastern Nazarene senior captain Bill Stephens. His other singles win of the week was a 6-3, 6-1 win against Joshua Warren, a sophomore from Southern Maine.

As half of a doubles tandem with junior Paul Braude, Jordan-Whittier posted a 1-1 record, beating Eastern Nazarene’s Jack Sahlman and Tyler Restrick 8-0, but lost to Southern Maine’s Warren and Derek Stevenson, 8-1.

Jordan-Whittier is currently 25th in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
