Lacrosse Recap

The Beacons’ lacrosse team started their conference schedule out on a bad note.

John Ruiz, Dale Nunn and Nick Thomo all scored two goals apiece for the Beacons (1-3, 0-1 in Little East Conference play), but it wasn’t enough as they dropped their first in-conference game to UMass Dartmouth (6-1, 1-1) 10-7 at UMass Boston this past Tuesday.

Seven players scored at least one goal for the Corsairs, with junior attacker Matt Leary leading the way with three goals, all of which came in the third quarter.

After no scoring in the first quarter, the Beacons found themselves trailing 3-2 at halftime. Led by Foxboro native Leary, UMass Dartmouth exploded for five goals in the third and the Beacons were never able to get closer than two goals.

The Beacons next play at home Tuesday, April 8, when MIT comes to the Peninsula.
