Junior volleyball player Kate McWhorter is The Star You See this week. For the week of September 15-21, McWhorter took home Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The Bakersfield, CA native averaged 4.42 kills per set for the week, a span of 12 sets and three matches. On September 20, Mcwhorter, an outside hitter, collected a career-high 24 kills to go along with one service ace and one block.

“Kate is a great player,” McWhorter’s partner in volleyball crime, Kate White said. “She is extremely smart about the game and she is extremely athletic.

“She just has an amazing presence on the team and she drives me to be more competitive.”

Through 13 matches, McWhorter leads the Lady Beacons is kills, aces and hitting percentage.
