The Beacons met Southern Maine University last Saturday for their first Little East Conference tennis game. Unfortunately, Southern Maine came away with their first victory of the year with a close score of 5-4.
Kristen Sandelin continued her dominance with her singles match victory over Emily Jose. Southern Maine and UMB split the singles matches 3-3, with victories by Christine Hortick and Blanka Stratford. In doubles matches, Sandelin and Kelly Ann Purkis won the first match, but Southern Maine took the next two doubles matches by the scores of 8-6 and 8-3.
