It’s a fact: The Mass Media is the hardest working student group on campus. No other organization brings together undergraduates and grad students, freshmen and seniors, to consistently put out a slab of original product every week of the semester. I’m very proud of the work The Mass Media does, and proud of every single team member who has contributed during their time at UMass Boston.

Over the past year, this newspaper has made great strides forward, improving its look, content and circulation. I’m happy to have played a part in the planning and execution of that improvement-However, we still have a long road ahead of us.

One of the best aspects of being Editor-in-Chief has been getting to know UMass Boston in a new and better light. My job has brought me into regular contact with an amazing array of individuals, groups and departments on campus. It’s been a rare treat to meet so many people and to always be made to feel welcome.

It has been these relationships, and the camaraderie of the newsroom, that have sustained me throughout the semester, and validated my belief in the potential of this institution.
