Survey Says Library has the Best Café on Campus

Some say its best because of the smoothies, others like the Library Café because it’s a convenient stop before studying. Forty of the one hundred random UMB students polled in this week’s survey, said they like the Library Café better than any other Café on campus. Not only is the Library Café the most loved by UMB students polled, it’s the most used. “I just wish there was more sitting areas in the library,” one student said. “It’s a beautiful view through those windows, but there are only like eight tables. I get my coffee and go to the sixth floor to study.”The Quinn Café came in second as best loved by UMB students, but it’s also the least used café on campus. Only two students said they go there more often then they go to the other cafés on campus. “I’m usually getting coffee just before class, so I usually go to McCormack, but I like the Quinn Café better.” The two students who use the Quinn most often, incidentally said they generally drink tea, and use the Quinn for studying. “I like the Quinn because it’s usually empty. It’s a great place to study, and there’s never a line.” Students that don’t study on campus, get their coffee wherever it’s convenient. And most don’t care about the atmosphere. “It’s too loud to study in the Campus Center. I might get coffee there on my way to class, but usually I just study at home,” said one student. In this week’s survey we asked four questions: Which café on campus do you like best? Why do you like that café? Which café on campus do you use most often? Why do you go to that café? We found that most UMB students seem to be caffeine addicts, and are willing to get their fix wherever is most convenient. The least loved café, because of its long lines, also came in second as the most used. “Look, I just go there to get coffee between classes. The atmosphere sucks, and the line’s long, but it usually moves pretty fast.”
