Freshman Destanee Ringler is set on making sure the UMass Boston women’s tennis team records their first winning season since 2001. She’s off to a good start. In the Beacons home opener on September 11, Ringler helped the Beacons roll by Lyndon State 8-1 with a straight set victory (6-2, 7-5) in the number two spot. She followed that up with another straight sets victory (6-0, 6-0) in the Beacons 9-0 domination over Pine Manor last Tuesday. After four games, Ringler has helped lead the Beacons to a 3-1 record. It’s their best start since 2001.
