After having the opportunity to speak to Cross Country Assistant Coach Jared Hawn, I learned of the expectations that the coaching staff have for the team this year, and therefore what expectations the team supporters should have. When asked what we should expect from the team this season, Hawn, a second year assistant coach, told me: “Our numbers were low last season, but I expect them to be much higher this season from what I have seen so far. I don’t see anything miraculous happening.” He then continued “We are looking to move up, which is possible. I think climbing by one or two spaces while also building towards the future is the overall goal for the team this season.” The team might be building towards the future at the moment, but there is still no reason we shouldn’t hope for the best from our team, and cheer them on no matter what.
