While gracefully roaming around at the Student Club Fair held last week, Psychology and Africana Studies major and Women and Gender Studies minor Hallima Docmanov was spotted. Docmanov was wearing an airy plum dress, delicately detailed with frills, purchased for only five dollars at Primark in Downtown Crossing. Sticking to a theme of black and purple for her outfit, Dacmanov rocked exclusively black accessories.
Draped around her neck was a black scarf from H&M to go along with her black booties from Forever 21. For a little pop, she added polka-dot stockings and a simple and versatile black hat from Primark.
Like any other college student, always mindful of her wallet, Docmanov explained, “I shop at thrift shops and vintage stores like Boomerang, Buffalo Exchange, and sometimes Goodwill. I buy at Primark and H&M and usually go for sales.”
As for her celebrity fashion icons, Docmanov declared her top idol to be Grace Jones. She also bases a lot of her fashion off of queer fashion artists and “gender-bending,” when one does not conform to a prescribed gender.
