“Well, perhaps this won’t sound very artistic or meaningful, but I guess the point behind my prints aren’t exactly to provoke any meaning, just to make something that looks aesthetically pleasing. That’s very Worhol-esque of me to say, isn’t it? Anyway, for the first print (below), I can put this very simply-I really like Tom Waits. I found a picture that I liked of him, drew it freehand, and then photo etched it. The first development was a disaster, but I left some of the old film on it and that gave it a crusty texture. Fitting, right? The second print (left) is a series of four prehistoric pachyderms. I chose to do this because I am a secret geek and I really dig evolution. I deliberately left out the wooly mammoth and the mastodon because everyone knows those ones. This one is Dienotherium, and thus concludes my artist’s statement.”
