“I spend a substantial portion of everyday pondering art in general. When it comes to my own art, what I most strive for is a deep sense of emotion and personality. These pieces, one relief print and three monotype, exemplify the variation I strive for between abstraction and expressionism. Although all images were generated at the same time they are quite different. The relief portrait (below), tentatively titled 3 Faces, has qualities of abstraction and expressionism at the same time. The monotypes (right, bottom, corner) are untitled because there can’t be a literal association in my opinion. I see a pure abstract art that engages on a compositional and color level rather than a figurative one.”
