Student Senate Elections: the Votes are In

The results are in for the 2005-2006 Student Senate election. Yes, that is correct, UMB does have a Student Senate, and you could have voted. The polls were open from April 20 through the 22. On Monday, April 25, Director of Student Life Jain Ruvidich-Higgins, and College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Student Senator Janna Goldstein counted the 200 votes. The results are as follows:

Student Trustee: Fritz Hyppolite, CLA. Hyppolite was the former senate vice-president and is now taking over for the current student trustee, Tuan Pham.

College of Liberal Arts: Brandon Gorham*

Representation is needed for CN and CSM. Students can join the senate at anytime during the year. For information on joining the student senate go to www.sga.umb.edu. Student Senators will be officially sworn in on Wednesday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Alumni Room.

On May 11 and 18 at 2:30 p.m., the Student Senate will be holding two very important meetings in the Campus Center cafeteria. The meetings will address the budget for the 2005-2006 academic year, as well as a potential revision of the Student Senate constitution.
