“All the art I have produced in school has been the product of experimentation. I am constantly using different materials and methods in my work. I think I’m trying to figure out where I fit. The pieces in the student art show are a mixture of fabric, photography, paint, pencil, and ink (above, right). In my series of women, I placed ten different women in varying scenes around Boston. Each woman was bound in cloth and then photographed. The photos were then scanned and digitally manipulated. Those images were then transferred onto silk, painted and sewed onto the same cloth the women had been bound in. The spinning sculpture (left) in Open Studios is a work in progress. I am exploring how kinetic art can express the relationship between male and female. There is still much work to be done.”
