Bomb Scare: A bomb scare forced hundreds of students out of Wheatley Hall and into the drizzling rain as state police, local firefighters, and campus security swarmed the area last week. Police received a phone call from someone stating that the building was going to blow up at 2:00pm. Police then went to each classroom to quietly evacuate students, until someone went ahead and pulled the fire alarm. Some speculate that the bomb scare might have been connected with a forum given by Palestinian activist Hasan Barghouthi. Police sources have said it’s an “open case” and an ongoing investigation.
