University of Massachusetts Boston Athletic Director Charlie Titus announced today that the University has named Steve Couertemanche as its Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach.

Courtemanche has a strong sports background in various sports and was a tennis instructor for five years in Hermosa Beach, California before returning to the New England area.

The New Hampshire resident played his college tennis at the University of New Hampshire, where he graduated in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Civil Engineering.

His experience hasn’t been limited to tennis as he served as an assistant coach for the MIT men’s volleyball squad for two seasons, was a ski instructor for two years at Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center in Breckenridge, Colorado and had been a swimming instructor as well.
