Dorchester Residents Plan to Fight High Auto Insurance Rates

The word is on the street that Dorchester residents should speak out, fight back, and join together and save some money on auto insurance.

Many UMass Boston employees and students who live here in Dorchester are planning on attending a meeting on June 24 at St. Mark’s Church Hall (1725 Dorchester Ave.) at 6:30pm to discuss ways to reform auto insurance rates.

According to the Dorchester Community News (DCN) at the meeting “a bill aimed at reducing car insurance rates by decreasing insurance fraud will be presented,” as well as presenting possible discounts for anti-theft devices.

According to the article in DCN, the meeting is organized by the Dorchester Partners Group, “made up of representatives from community block groups, neighborhood watches and civic organizations in and around Dorchester.” For more information about the group residents should contact Barry Mullen (617.474.1170) or Davida Andlman (617.754.0027)
