Steelworker by Luis Jimenez will be returning to the UMass Boston campus on Friday, May 9, some time in the afternoon.

After a two-year long Jimenez Retrospective that traveled to Santa Barbara, California and The Whatcom Musem of History and Art in Bellingham, Washington, the artwork will be reunited with all the other sculptures on campus along with Jimenez’s other UMB piece of wild alligators, Lagartos, located by the Clark Athletic Center.

The larger-than-life fiberglass sculpture will be relocated to its former post out in the plaza area between McCormack and Wheatley Hall, where it will stand tall again, overlooking students on their way to class.
