Little East Conference Rookies of the Year

The Little East Conference recently named two UMass Boston athletes as Rookies of the Year in their respective sports. UMB lacrosse player Ryan O’Rourke (left) led the entire LEC in assists per game with a 2.38 average. He set a UMB lacrosse record with an astounding nine assists performace in only the fourth game of his collegiate career. The second Rookie of the Year award went to firstbaseman Siobhan Lynch of the UMB softball team. The New Jersey native immediately became the team’s cleanup hitter and proceeded to set team records for homeruns (8) and RBI (30). Lynch was also very dependable with the leather, committing only five errors in a total of 215 chances.

The LEC also named lacrosse player Joshua Stolp Offensive Player of the Year and lacrosse coach Myles Berry Coach of the Year. It was Berry’s second Coach of the Year award in three years.
