10:04am – Truck was too high and hit the overhang of the Upper Busway like champagne against a ship. Not a bad way to christen the new fall semester.

Wednesday, September 3

12:29pm – Report of a male and female arguing in the Clark Center. Police dropped by, and the couple left the scene together.

2:07pm – Car accident in McCormack Hall. Unless McCormack was briefly converted into a car dealership, we can assume that when the Police Log says “in,” it means under. No personal injuries were reported.

Thursday, September 4

12:20am – Officer came upon a group of hockey players having their own Opening Week festivities by drinking beer in the Science Center and informed them of UMass Boston’s drinking policy.

1:58pm – Multiple items stolen from storage area in Wheatley Hall.

10:21pm – Alarm accidentally went off in the bookstore.

11:54pm – Alternative Opening Week festivities continue: a different group of hockey players was found drinking, this time in Upper Garage.

Friday, September 5

9:31am – Argument between two males in Wheatley Hall reported. By the time the officer showed up at 9:32am, the two had already left.

8:03pm – A television used for showing a videotape on UMass Boston was stolen from Wheatley Hall.

Sunday, September 7

11:52am – Suspicious white male was reportedly looking around the cars by the North Lot.
