Eric Summerville is a 5′ 10″ point/shooting guard who is one of the elder statesmen of the UMass Boston men’s basketball team. The three-year year letterman joined the team in 2001-02 season as one of 12 entering freshman. Summerville and fellow guard Roger Perry are the only remaining members from the Dirty Dozen freshman class of 2001.

In the first game of the season against the Falcons of Fitchburg State, Summerville expoded for 22 points, 17 of them in the first half. Although the Little Rock native scored only six points in the championship against Williams College, he did pick up the tournament’s John “Bill” Shay Award given to the student-athlete who displays exemplary sportsmanship and competition on the court.
