Due to an unfortunate oversight by the production department at The Mass Media, an image ran with last week’s story on students marching in NYC that was offensive to some members of the UMB community.

The original image contained profane language, which was blocked out according to newspaper policy. Unfortunately, the resulting image appeared to contain a word that is derogatory to the homosexual community.

This mistake was completely unintentional and was simply an oversight. The production department would like to extend sincere apologies to the members of the UMB community that were affected by this oversight and would like to inform the entire community that we intend to pay closer attention to future issues of The Mass Media so that this kind of oversight does not occur again.
