Upon reading this week’s edition of The Mass Media I cam across this obscenely racist comment written by the newspaper’s News editor, Carl Brooks (march 25 ed. Pg. 2, under Police Log event on Thursday, March 11):
“Someone wrote “white power” in the same place as before, this time in marker. Good thinking, master race.”
With this in mind many of us can definitely question and wonder about what this “student newspaper” is publishing and what this implies about UMB, a school where racial diversity is highly regarded and almost a trademark.
