Dear UMass Boston Community,

I wanted to alert you all to a wonderful opportunity to volunteer your time and build your resume at the same time. At the central YMCA on Huntington Avenue in Boston, there is an after school program called Project Moonrise. High school kids go there to hang out and there are over 30 activities to do with them. You can teach your own dance class, math class, chess class, play sports, listen to music, sing, even create your own activity. There is no time commitment and it is open every day so even if you only go once you are making a difference. We desperately need volunteers and I know we can count on you to help, use your creativity, get experience in whatever field you are studying, and help out the Beacon Leadership Project as that is our mission for this year.
