Over one hundred people family, friends, colleagues, and students, filled the Ryan Lounge on Thursday, February 12 to honor the memery of the late professor Arthur “Rusty” Simonds. Simonds was a faculty member of the Political Science department here at UMass Boston for over thirty years. He was a two time winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Teaching. He passed away last October 20 from a pulmonary embellism.
